A group of archaeological students become trapped in the past when they go there to retrieve their professor. The group must survive in 14th century France long enough to be rescued.
Marek: We're speaking the same language, but you don't understand a word I'm saying, do you? Lady Claire: No.
Marek: Are you, uh... married? Lady Claire: No. We've been fighting the English since before I was born. There's no time for marriage. Marek: Of course. Are you, uh... with... anyone? Lady Claire: Am I with anyone? Marek: Yeah. Lady Claire: I'm with you. Marek: I know, I know. What I mean is, is there, is there someone, is there someone... that you see? Lady Claire: Do I see? Marek: Yeah. Lady Claire: [Looks around] Uh, nobody... It is possible they are hiding on the shore or... in the woods. They could be anywhere.
Kate Ericson: There's one thing worse than dying here, and that's living here.
Marek: Go! Get the hell out of here! Chris Johnston: No, let's go home! Come on! Marek: [Marek looks at Lady Claire] Marek: I am home, Chris. Marek: [Marek looks again at Lady Claire] Marek: Chris, just go. Say goodbye for me. Chris Johnston: I'm gonna miss you, Marek.
Marek: I just delivered her to the French for safekeeping. *How* did the English get her? Professor Johnston: It's history. Marek: Then history will change
Professor Johnston: This form the boy who hated Easter because he couldn't find the eggs. Chris Johnston: [laughing] Yeah, because you BURIED the eggs! Professor Johnston: [also laughing] That's beside the point.
[Everyone is getting ready to leave, except for Josh Stern] François: [to Stern] Remember the 50 bucks I owe you? [hands him an I.O.U]
[reading sign on Marek's sarcophagus] Professor Johnston: Died 1382. Kate Ericson: Born 1971.
Lord Oliver: [to Francois] Je suis un espion. Interpret.
Marek: [after De Kere cuts his ear, he realizes he's the one in the sarcophagus] It's me! IT'S ME!
Chris Johnston: [grabs Marek's sword] Man, do you love this stuff. Marek: It's a habit I can't quite kick. Marek: [takes sword from Chris] Here, let me take that thing from you before you cut something off you'll need later on.
Marek: So how does it feel being passed over for 600-year-old ruins? Chris Johnston: It sucks. It sucks big time.
Chris Johnston: The way I see it, we've got what, we've got 650 years of knowledge on these guys. If we put our heads together, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to get out of here and home in 20 minutes.
Josh Stern: So are you saying that they could be stuck back there forever? Steven Kramer: It could be.
Robert Doniger: Yeah, yeah, look. We need cultural experts, not scientists. My people simply don't know about the medieval world, or how to mingle with the locals, which is what we're gonna have to do, if we're going to find the professor and bring him back. Marek: So that's it? We just step on that machine and wiz back to 1357?
Lady Claire: Andre Marek. Are you married?
Kate Ericson: [the marker is not working, Kate is panicking] Why isn't it working? It's not working. Gordon: I don't know because if it were working, we'd be FUCKING HOME RIGHT NOW!
Lord Oliver: [to Lady Claire] God be with you, Lady.
Robert Doniger: How many lives has been lost on the cutting edge of Discovery?
Gordon: Trust me- we're in 1357 France.
Robert Doniger: At least they have some kinda' life back there.
Lady Claire: [Interpreting for Marek] He is very grateful you returned his sister. Lord Arnaut: [Picks up his sword threateningly at Marek] You're English! Marek: [Hurriedly] No, I'm Scottish. Lady Claire: Arnaut, he saved the life of one of your men. Lord Arnaut: You're Scottish, huh? Marek: Yes. Lord Arnaut: In that case, I do not know how to express my gratitude.
Lord Oliver: My God, it's a miracle, a quiet Frenchman.
Robert Doniger: Oh. Robert Doniger: [walks over to the group and takes Francois' glasses off] Sorry Francois - they didn't - have these... François: You know, I can't see without them. Robert Doniger: I'm sure you'll be fine. That's where we goofed up with the professor.
Lord Oliver: [to Andre] Scottish? You've come to kill us all in our beds, eh?
Chris Johnston: I think I already know the answer to that question I was hoping you'd notice
