Kitty Carlisle was an American singer, actress and spokeswoman for the arts. She is best remembered as a regular panelist on the television game show To Tell the Truth. Carlisle served 20 years on the New York State Council on the Arts. In 1991, she received the National Medal of Arts from President George H. W. Bush. I was taken to concerts when I was six, seven years old, and sat in a box throughout the whole evening.
And I didn't, that's why my career was very short lived.
And I wasn't crazy about Hollywood in those days.
So I got caught up in the same wave as everybody else and went right out to Hollywood, to make movies.
