Jascha Heifetz — American Musician born on February 02, 1901, died on December 10, 1987

Jascha Heifetz was a violinist, widely considered to be one of the finest violinists of modern times. Born in Vilnius, Russian Empire, he moved as a teenager to the United States, where his Carnegie Hall debut was rapturously received. The New York Times called him "perhaps the greatest violinist of all time."Fritz Kreisler, another leading violinist of the twentieth century, said on hearing Heifetz's debut, "We might as well take our fiddles and break them across our knees.".. I occasionally play works by contemporary composers and for two reasons. First to discourage the composer from writing any more and secondly to remind myself how much I appreciate Beethoven.
There is no top. There are always further heights to reach.
If I don't practice one day, I know it; two days, the critics know it; three days, the public knows it.
